Our Legacy

1920s – Foundations of the Navarro Brand

Antonio Navarro Sr. moves to Trinidad to work for Escala & Navarro, a shipping and brokerage partnership that marks the beginning of the Navarro family’s business legacy.

1960s – From Sea to Sky

After Mr. Escala’s departure in 1958, the company continues under a different name, Navarro’s Shipping & Brokerage Ltd. In 1962, with the opening of the first terminal at Piarco International Airport, the family began doing Cargo handling in partnership with PasCargo.

1970s – The Start of Leisure Travel

Navarro’s agents begin organizing trips for leisure travellers, with Venezuela, particularly Caracas, becoming a top destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment. All bookings are done manually, by phone and handwritten ledgers.

1980s – A Trusted Name in Travel

Now one of Trinidad’s most respected agencies, Navarro’s introduces early booking system, Sabre, modernizing operations while maintaining meticulous manual processes to ensure accuracy.

1990s – Digital Connections

With the rise of the World Wide Web and email, Navarro’s becomes more connected than ever, expanding its network of corporate and leisure travelers and enhancing client communication.

2000s – Dual Systems, Steady Growth

The company continues operating Sabre and introduces a new program, Amadeus, which operate simultaneously to ensure the most reliable, flexible, and competitive booking experience for all clients.

Late 2010s — A Global Partnership

Navarro’s becomes the exclusive local partner of American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT), elevating its corporate travel capabilities and offering clients global reach and advanced tools like Concur.

2020s — Rebuilding & Reimagining

Following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Navarro’s Travel strengthens its digital presence and social media engagement, continuing to uphold its family values of service, honesty, and excellence while embracing the modern travel landscape.
